Sri.Ramalinga Reddy, Hon’ble  Minister for Transport and Chairman, KSRTC  inaugurated  BMTC’s new Bus Station at N.R.Colony  in Basavanagudi on  23-10-2016.

 

           Sri Ravi Subramanya, Hon’ble MLA, Basavanagudi Constituency presided over the function. Ananthkumar, Hon’ble Minister for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Parliamentary Affairs, GOI, Sri T.A.Sharavana, Hon’ble MLC, Sri Narayanaswamy, Hon’ble MLC, Sri B.S. Sathyanarayana(Katte Sathya), Hon’ble BBMP member, Basavanagudi Ward,  Sri Nagaraju Yadav, Chairman, BMTC and Sri Govindaraju, Vice-Chairman, BMTC, were the Chief guests in the function.   Dr.Ekroop Caur, Managing Director, BMTC, Non Official Board Directors of BMTC and  other respected invitees were present on the occasion.

Modern Bus Station at N.R.Colony:

BMTC in order to provide sophisticated facilities to the passengers of Bengaluru has constructed  ultra modern Bus Station at N.R.Colony in Basavanagudi. The Bus Station is constructed on an area of 7,800 sqft, with a built up area of 12,763 sqft consisting of Ground floor, Mezzanine floor, First and Second floor at a cost of 327 lakh rupees.

Facilities at the Bus Station:

1)    Bus Bay and Platforms

2)    Traffic Controller Room

3)    Pass Counter

4)    Washrooms for Men & Women

5)    Lift facility

6)    Commercial space(Ground floor-2)

7)    Office space(Mezzanine floor-2) and First Floor

8)    Drinking Water Facility

9)    Seating facility for passengers

10)           LED lighting facility

11)           Clock Tower

12 Shedules with 122 trips will operate from this new Bus Stand from Sultan Palya, Kempegowda Bus stand, Mahalakshmi Layout, Nandini Layout and Chowdeshwari Bus Stand to N.R.Colony.

Further 41 schedules with 446 trips will  operate via this new Bus Stand in various Route numbers from Girinagara 2^nd Stage, Kempegowda Bus stand, Shivajinagr Bus Stand to Jayanagar 9^th Block , Thyagarajanagar CT bed, Thyagarajanagar, Chikkallasandra (RA Layout), Chikkallasandra, Uttarahalli, Poornapragna Layout, BSK 5^th Stage, BSK 5^th Phase Kariyana Palya and Turhalli.

Major Projects of BMTC:

·        For the benefit of the travelling public 44 Depots, 54 Bus Stands & 10 TTMCs are in operation.

·        Construction of  New Bus Stand at Yalahanka Old Town, Employees Quarters at Shanthinagar & Gunjur and Depots at Sadenahalli, MS Palya, Anjanapura have been completed at a cost of 40 crore rupees and started operation.

Depots:

·        Construction work for new Depots at Manduru, Sadaramangala, Nagadasanahalli & Devenahalli at a cost of 16 crore rupees is taken up.

Bus Stations:

·        Construction work for new Bus stations at Kengeri Upanagara and Mallasandra at a cost of Rs:27 crores is taken up.

Workshops:

·        Construction of new Divisional Workshop at Dasanapura and  Challaghatta, at a cost of Rs:30 crores is under progress.

Employees Quarters

·        Employees Quarters are being constructed at Jigani at a cost of 6 crore rupees.

Bus Terminals

·        Highly modern and hit-tech Bus Stations are planned to be constructed at BTM Layout at a cost of Rs:70 crores and at Kalasipalya at a cost of Rs:50 crores.

·        Projects for Construction of 01 Central Workshop and 05 Depots at a cost of Rs:59.56 crores  are taken up under Cental Government’s extended JnNURM project.
